Hallelujah

A Reading from the Book of Eva

And the mother grumbled, for her days were long, and her offspring she had begotten were crying out with wailing and gnashing of teeth. And the mother was weary, so the mother cried out to the Lord. And the Lord heard the cry of the mother, and the Lord came near.

And lo, the mother laid herself down, for she was weary, and she heard a cry from her begotten daughter, "Behold!" And the mother ascended, and beheld the ivory alter, and the offering her daughter had laid before her mother. And the offering was beautiful in the mother's sight. And the child cried out, "Look Mommy! I am potty trained!!"

And suddenly there appeared a chorus of angels which filled the air, singing songs of praise, and the heavens opened up an a light shone down upon the offering which shined like gold. And the mother was filled with joy and thanksgiving unto the Lord, the giver of all good things.

And the mother said, this is my child, with who I am so well pleased. For the mother had prayed for forty years three years and ten months for the Lord to hear her prayer. And the mother promised reward upon the daughter, and prepared a feast to remember the glorious day.
