(Y'all, sorry this is going up a bit late. Someone kept me up ALL NIGHT LONG Wednesday night so my mommy mojo was way off yesterday. But praise the Lord and pass the Tylenol PM, I got a good night's sleep last night. It is amazing what sleep can do for mom skilz!!)

Welcome to the first edition of Friday Faves!!

Write a post on your favorite perfume, and link up here below. That way other people can pop over to your blog. Be sure and link up to the specific post's url, not your blog's url. To put the button on your blog, copy the code above.

Okay. So here are mine!

I have to say that, I go back and forth on the whole perfume thing. I am trying to pare down our use of chemicals, so depending on what I have read recently, I might be boycotting perfume. But then a couple weeks later I am back on board - because I am a smell girl, after all.

So when I am in the latter phase, these are my faves.

I admit it. I love Lauren. I have been wearing it since 1982 and it still is my favorite. But I have moved on to this

because Safari is like Lauren for grownups.

All the Ralph Lauren perfumes have serious Staying Power. I have a horrible affliction that has caused me much pain in my life: my skin does not like to retain perfume. Boo. Aside from Ralph Lauren and Estee Lauder, very few stick.

But if I could fine my favorite green monogrammed sweater that I wore with a turtleneck underneath it with Jordasche jeans and Sperry topsiders, it would still smell like Lauren.

Alas, I am out of both. Hint, hint.

Currently, I am wearing these:

Kenneth Cole: I found this someplace random, like Marshall's, and I LOVE it. Staying Power of 10, and I get tons of compliments.

Body Shop perfume oils: this one is Oceanus. I wore this on my honeymoon, so every time I smell it, I instantly feel happy and in love and skinny enough to wear a bikini.

Bath and Body Works Sensual Amber: yum-my. In the same genre as Lauren, but way cheaper. Much more wintry than summery.

Banana Republic Malachite: I bought this one to be my summer scent. It smells great, but Staying Power? Pfffft.

Okay, your turn! And also - leave me some comments with future Friday Faves ideas!

  1. I don't wear perfume much at all. When I did it Magic Noire from Lancome.

However thinking about scents has got me pining for my fav scent on a guy. Chaps. I know, I know. totally corny. but I loved it.

brings back tons of highschool memories.
    and brat pack films. *sigh*

  2. I know, and did you hear John Hughes died? So sad!!

  3. Cute idea--I couldn't resist. :-)

  4. Very Irresistable by Givenchy. My hubs bought it for me and I've always liked it. But I'm loving this bc I'm wanting to find some new scents.

  5. i'm a ralph girl. and that's it.

look at you w/all your variety!

  6. I need to go sniff out some of the perfumes! I am finding that I might be a little sheltered in the olfactory department.

  7. I posted my blog link to my fave's. How fun! I am all about the smell....I have a very sensitive sense of smell. If I believed in "past lives" I would almost say I was one of those dogs that sniffed out drugs, lol.

  8. I've been crazy busy and forgot to get my perfume post ready. I'm into body splashes, preferably Love Spell from Victorias Secret even though I'm embarrassed to go in there! Good thing it lasts me forever! And they may not even make it anymore...

How about our fave songs we sing to our kids for a future Friday Faves?

  9. I didn't write a perfume post today, but I love Omnia by Bulgari. It's the first perfume I've had as an adult that I've completely used the whole bottle and bought more.

  10. In high school: Eternity by Calvin Klein. And in college, and after college, still Eternity. I still get a little swoony thinking of that smell.

Then I got married, darling husband thought Eternity smelled like household cleaning chemicals. I persisted for a year or so and finally gave up in sorrowful defeat. Sometimes now I will wear a little Chanel or Marc Jacobs, but my heart's not really in it....

  11. From one nose to another...I thoroughly enjoyed my visit tonight!!! Love the post about your smell adventure into body wash! I have so journeyed into the world of stupid! You are not alone, dear one...
Enjoyed the perfumes...gotta love Lauren and Safari...they are forever on the skin!

    Bless you,

  12. What a great idea on blog posts...mine ended up being a long one as I knew it would be since scents are a favorite of mine.

How about a favorite item in our home or favorite book (however I know the LPM Blog did that one several months back).

  13. Hello Mis - I am fairly new to your blog and loving it! You've taken me back to some great memories with the Lauren perfume. I wore it exclusively for many years! I love the scent. I would love to start joining in on your Friday Faves party! I will plan on linking up next week. What a fun idea!

  14. I love Marc Jacobs. Yummo. But a friend wears it (which is how I fell in love with it.) So I only wear it when I'm not around her. But soon I'll be around her nearly every day. SOOO I need a new one. Please tell me what the popular fragrances for cool, hip moms with an extra 20 pounds is.
