Day 13 - smocked and smeared

Eva Rose and I joyfully going through a bag of 2T handmedowns that my friend Angela gave me - including some SMOCKED

and - be still my heart - some teeny tiny

Tom's. SQUEAL!!!!!!

Y'all, taking a photo of myself every day is a good way to notice the serious mascara smears below my eyes that are apparently a daily occurrence. How do I make that stop?

  1. I am so excited for you - long time reader, seldom commenter :) Can't wait to see Bethie's feet in leetle pink Toms!

I had to comment because I recently heard a tip for keeping mascara from creeping on ya. Take a little eyeshadow brush and pat face powder on to the area right below the lower eyelashes. I have been doing it for a few weeks and it works really well.

  2. Waterproof mascara. And no eyeliner. Or use eyeshadow as liner. Seems to help with me. So excited for you, by the way!!

  3. Mary Kay Eye Makeup Remover is fantastic to take it off at night. Also, all their mascaras are great for no smearing during the day. My favorite is the Lash Love Mascara, but I know others love the Ultimate Mascara, too. Waterproof will guarantee no smearing, but you really need the eye makeup remover to take all of them off. It's the best remover out there!

I always put powder under my eyes. Also, I only put mascara on my upper lashes, not my lower. Good luck!

  5. I use face powder under my eyes and a light eye shadow instead of a concealer. The powder will absorb the mascara a little but if you combine that trick with using a waterproof mascara, you'll have an even better result. I do find, however, that it sometimes rubs off above my eyes near my eyebrow from my eyelashes hitting my skin all day. Anyone have a trick for that? Also, waterproof mascara washes off with a washcloth, soap and water. Yes, the mascara comes out of the washcloth in the laundry.
