Adopted for Life on Kindle - $3.99

Russell D Moore is the bomb. And this book is considered the 'primer' for Christian adoption. And Sarah says below that it is what finally convinced her husband to adopt  (ya hear that?)

It's on Kindle today for $3.99. Grab it while it's hot - it won't last long.

If you don't have a Kindle, you can still buy it and then beg Santa to bring you a Kindle Fire for Christmas. Trust me, you want one. Or you can just read it on your computer or phone.

And if any of you have Gone Girl on Kindle can you loan it to me? From what I've read it would make the flight to Ethiopia go pretty quicker.

Hm, she said "flight to Ethiopia" like she was planning on going soon...hmmmmm.....

Any other books about Ethiopia or adoption you want to loan me, please. Leave me a comment with your email. Loaning books on Kindle is kind of a secret but it's super easy to do.  I'm happy to loan you mine too.

  1. Have you read Hatmaker's Interrupted? I have that on Kindle I could loan you.

I assume you've read Adopted for Life? If there was any one book or message that tipped my extremely reluctant husband over the edge on deciding to adopt, that was it. Dr. Moore speaks right to the heart of the reluctant husbands :)

    1. I got asked to review Interrupted and interview Jen and that's how we became friends. After the interview was over we just kept talking :)

      That book messed me up.

You got any more? I can loan you Parenting Your Internationally Adopted Child when I'm done with it. It's excellent.

Oh, I also have Why Are All the Black Kids Sitting Together in the Cafeteria and it's great too.

    2. I have read most of Adopted. I got to hear Dr Moore speak a couple months ago at Austin Stone. He was great, of course.

  2. I've got Gone Girl, and I'm happy to loan it! My email is We met at Smockaholics a while back. :)

  3. Here is what I have, if anyone wants to borrow:

    All 3 Hunger Games

    Kisses from Katie

Many of the Steig Larsson books (that's Walker, not me!)

    Tim Tebow autobiography

    A Dance with Dragons

Pillars of the Earth - Ken Follet

  4. I would love to read kisses from Katie! How do I find which books are loan able? I am

  5. I work at an adoption agency and just shared this with all of our families on our facebook page. We highly recommend "Adopted for Life" to families, as well as "The Connected Child" by Karyn Purvis. Karyn Purvis is wonderful as a researcher in attachment theory and parenting kids from "the hard places" - I had the privilege of attending a conference she put on at TCU a couple weeks ago and it was incredible. Check it out! There's even a TON of free resources connected to it at

  7. Sorry.. posted as wrong user. I have several great books that Amazon will not let me loan out. (It's not an option in the settings.) Is there something I'm not seeing?

Love, love, love my Kindle Fire!

    1. You can, I have to figure out how to do it again. It's not easy, see, they kinda keep it a secret. You can ONLY loan out a book once tho.

    2. Oh. Well that kinda stinks. Good to know though!
